‘Yellowstone’ actor Luke Grimes expands resume.
Grimes, who plays Keith Dutton on the Paramount Network blockbuster show, recently signed a record deal with Universal Music Group Nashville in partnership with Range Music.
The actor teased “No Horse to Ride,” his first song he wrote with Jonathan Singleton and Tony Laine, on Instagram on Monday.
“No horse rides 12/16,” he wrote.
Grimes has been open about his love for music, often speaking in interviews.
Grimes’ father was a Pentecostal minister, and the Ohio native grew up playing music in his church. He learned drums at a church camp, after which he got a guitar and a piano. He grew older and became the drummer and songwriter for a Los Angeles-based country band. However, his acting took precedence.
Appeared in movies such as “The Magnificent Seven” and “American Sniper”.

Grimes’ early influences included Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and more recently Colter Wall, Ruston Kelly, Paul Cozen and the late Townes Van Zandt. but with Music City hit writers like Jonathan Singleton, Tony Lane, Randy Montana, Brent Cobb, Jamie Johnson, Josh Osborne, Jon Randall and Jesse Alexander. I lived in Nashville for many months. Dave Cobb is producing Grimes’ debut album for Range Music/Mercury Nashville.
