Winter Music Festival rocks on

Quincy (WGEM) – The Heroes and Starmen Winter Music Festival continued Saturday at the State Street Theater, along with Rock Nights of the 80’s and 90’s.

A band far from St. Louis came to rock out the theater.

Saturday’s bands included Trifecta, Rain City Addiction, FUN DMC and Retro Nerds.

Douglas Peterson, owner of State Street Theater, says the festival is a great way for people to come together, make friends and have fun.

“It was great. We had a lot of great community participants. One of the things we love about live music is that it really brings people together. It’s a great place to come, have fun, and be yourself,” Peterson said.

He said it’s important to hold events like this in the winter so people can get out of their homes and join the community.

“We don’t always get the chance to get out of the house, especially in the winter when it’s cold and we don’t want to feel trapped, our community,” Peterson said.

Music runs from noon to around 9pm on Sundays.

Sunday’s performers include Kyle Trudell, Craig Cosat, The Second Stringers, The Matt Robert Bruce Band and more.

Tickets are $20 at the door and all ages are welcome.

The festival is put on by Maverick Mesmer Management LLC, which is planning a Tom Petty Celebration show on March 4th.
