Watch Ex-Megadeth Drummer Chuck Behler Play with Former Bandmates for the First Time in 35 Years


Kings of Thrash are currently embarking on a ‘Thrashin’ USA’ tour, with Megadeth alumni David Ellefson, Jeff Young and Chris Poland announcing their participation months ago, but other former members. was never actually discussed. But last Friday (February 24), former Megadeth drummer Chuck Balor joined the supergroup during a performance at The His Machine Shop in Flint, Michigan.

Blabbermouth have confirmed that Behler, who succeeded Gar Samuelson in 1987, played in the 1988s. So far, so good…so what! and left in 1989 – apparently participating in covers of “In My Darkest Hour” and the Sex Pistols’ “Anarchy in the UK”, both songs originally from Megadeth’s third album. Given that they were on studio records, these were clearly the right picks.

After the show, Ellefson took to social media to share a few photos of him, Young, and Balor from the evening. One of them contains the following caption: Tonight in Flint, Michigan, me, Jeff Young, and Chuck Balor played together for the first time in 35 years…the last time we played together was on August 20, 1988 at Rock in Donington, England. It was a castle monster! Thank you for sharing a heartfelt magical moment together! ”

Clearly, the attendees responded with many compliments to Ellefson’s Facebook post and were just as enthusiastic. One fan in particular said, “Great show! So happy to hear that thrash classic again!” So Far is my favorite ‘deth album and hearing it live was awesome! It was great to go see Chuck play and talk to him again! ”
