Machine Gun Kelly live guitarist Sophie Lloyd recently denied rumors that she was in a relationship with rebellious rapper-turned-pop-punk artist Machine Gun Kelly. While that has definitely made her past week difficult for her, some good news is on the horizon. Because it looks like she’ll be collaborating with her Trivium vocalist/guitarist Matt Heafy on her latest track, “Fall of Man.”
Yesterday (February 17th), Heafy posted a music video teaser for “Fall of Man” on Instagram and Facebook. It lasts only a few seconds, but it shows well the hypnotic and hectic nature of the song. Of course, Heafy also provided a detailed and humble description of the partnership.
Sophie Lloyd is an extremely talented force as a musician and songwriter. She remembers the first time she saw Sophie’s guitar playing online. She was really touched. She’s been a fan of Sophie for several years now, so she was honored when she was asked to guest star on her next track.
When I also learned that Trivium was Sophie’s all-time favorite band, I was humbled and filled with gratitude.
Sophie is now both a solo project and lead guitarist for MGK, so there’s no question that Sophie Lloyd has taken over.
I can’t wait for the world to hear this single.
As expected, reactions from Heafy’s followers were mixed. For example, someone on Facebook wrote, “Great, can’t wait to hear the full version.” Similarly, one Instagram user commented, “So excited for this!”
In contrast, however, another Instagram fan admitted, “MGK’s involvement is a turn-off, but listen, we’ll see what it’s like.”
Lloyd also posted about the song on social media, writing:
