The Weeknd makes Spotify history as artist with most monthly listeners


The Weeknd became the first artist in Spotify’s history to reach 100 million monthly listeners.

As of February 27, Global Megastar has set a new streaming record.

The feat comes just days after Ariana Grande revived her music with a remix of The Weeknd’s “Die For You.”

The pop superstar, who hasn’t released an album since 2020’s “Positions,” has teamed up with her friend and collaborator on a new version of the 2016 track from her album, “Starboy.”

The 29-year-old Starr and 33-year-old The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) first teamed up in 2014 for “Love Me Harder” from Ariana’s My Everything album. And in 2020, they duet on “Off The Table” from her LP “Positions” and Ariana performed a remix of “Save Your Tears” from his record After Hours.

Ariana is currently working long hours on filming a two-part adaptation of the hit Broadway musical Wicked, in which she plays Glinda.

The “Dangerous Woman” singer recently reminded fans of her vocal prowess in her rendition of “Over the Rainbow” from the 1939 classic “Wicked,” telling fans that she is still very much a singer. I reassured him.

After being asked by a TikTok user why she stopped being a singer, she replied, “I literally shoot two musical movies on set every day.”

In the video, the hitmaker of “Thank You Next” – as a charity single by Judy Garland at her One Love Manchester benefit concert in May 2017, after 22 fans were killed in the terrorist attack that followed her.
