So it might come as a surprise to some to learn that just weeks after the final parade ended, the team behind the world-famous spectacular show was pushing ahead with fast fashion.
Less than three weeks after the 2023 Honda Rose Parade took place, we now know the theme of the 2024 celebration, thanks to an announcement at the Tournament House on the night of January 19th.
This is a moving, sound-tastic subject that is sure to grab your attention along the parade route and around the globe. After it was recently held on January 2nd (January 1st, 2023 is a Sunday and the Rose Parade will never be held on a Sunday).
Alex Aghajanian, the newly appointed president and board chairman of the Tournament of Roses Association, made the much-anticipated announcement on January 19th.
“The theme for 2024 brings us together through music,” Aghajanian said from the steps of the landmark Tournament House, just south of the parade starting point on Orange Grove Boulevard and Green Street. .
“In a world of different cultures, beliefs, hopes and dreams, one language, music, unites us all.”
“Sounds, textures, rhythms, forms, harmonies and expressions come together to move, calm, excite and delight the world,” explains Aghajanian.
“From bossa nova to blues, classical to country, metal to mariachi, rock to rap, thousands of genres invite us to come together and celebrate the world of music.
“Near or far, young or old, we invite you to join us for a year-round celebration that culminates on New Year’s Day at the Rose Parade. Let the music begin!”
