SZA to receive Woman of the Year honour at 2023 Billboard Women in Music Awards


SZA will be honored with the Woman of the Year award at Billboard’s 2023 Woman in Music Awards.

The Kill Bill singer, whose real name is Solana Imani Law, is following the success of her long-awaited sophomore album SOS, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts in December and remained there until 2019. Recognized and awarded coveted prizes. 7 weeks in a row.

Billboard’s editorial director, Hannah Karp, said in a statement, “Since her emergence on the scene in 2017, SZA has continued to release genre-defying, raw and powerful songs, and her music has stood the test of time. Landed on the Billboard charts: “The release of her latest album, SOS, cemented her as a singular force in contemporary R&B and catapulted her to superstardom. I can’t wait to be recognized as the Year of the Year.”

Previous Woman of the Year winners include Olivia Rodrigo, Cardi B, Billie Eilish, Madonna, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.

SZA will be honored at an awards ceremony on March 1st at the YouTube Theater in Hollywood Park, Los Angeles. She previously won her Rulebreaker Award at the 2019 Billboard Women in Music Awards.

The 2023 show will see Lana Del Rey win the Visionary Award, Kim Petras the Chartbreaker Award, Becky G the Impact Award and Rat the Powerhouse Award.

Other winners include Rainie Wilson, TWICE, Ivy Queen and Doechii.
