School of Rock, a leader in performance-based music education, opens its first location in Suite 102, 1907 US 17 North, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1998, School of Rock has become a rapidly growing international franchise with over 500 schools open or under development in 15 global markets. Since 2009, the School of Rock’s student numbers have grown from his 4,000 to nearly 60,000.
School of Rock offers music lessons for students of all ages, including bass, guitar, singing, drums and piano lessons. Learning from all styles of rock and roll, students learn theory and techniques through songs by legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz and Led Zeppelin.
Opening events include a ceremonial guitar smashing (a ribbon-cut version of School of Rock), performances by neighboring School of Rockhouse bands, raffles, balloon art, prize wheels, and a tour of the school with free demo lessons.Program discount.
The School of Rock Mount Pleasant is owned by the McFarland family. Steve McFarland has been the owner of his three Indiana locations (Wisconsin and now South Carolina) for over 11 years. Matt and Mandy McFarland were part of the Indiana School of Rock before deciding to open in Mount Pleasant, according to a news release.
