This new program of works for soprano saxophone features the voices of Latino artists, their stories, their art, and the stories of the artists who have inspired them. Includes 4 songs (including 2 world premieres) written especially for Hernandez. The recital will be preceded by a masterclass at 3:00 pm in Schönberg Hall 1344.

The first concert features student work written specifically for Aperture Duo, and the second concert features faculty work and work by Aperture Duo.
Dave Brubeck’s Music and Justice Performance gate of justice and world premiere, Sunday, February 26, 4:00 p.m. Royce Hall
Dave Brubeck’s three sons perform Brubeck’s monumental cantata together for the first time. gate of justiceWritten by Brubeck after the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., the work aims to reflect and heal the rift between the black and Jewish communities. Hosted by the Lowell Milken Center for Music of the American Jewish Experience, the concert will also include world premieres by UCLA faculty members Arturo O’Farrill and Dr. Diane White-Clayton.Among featured soloists are India Kearney, UCLA alumni and finalists The Voice.
