Sam Smith secures third Number 1 album with ‘Gloria’

Sam Smith secures his third official #1 album with Gloria today.

The London-born singer-songwriter culminates with her fourth studio album. Prior to this, Sam earned his two chart-topping records. His 2014 debut In The Lonely Hour and his 2017 The Thrill Of It All. Their third his LP, Love Goes, reached his No. 2 spot in 2020.

Gloria also topped the Official Vinyl Albums Chart, proving it was the biggest wax release of the week.

Eminem’s timeless collection Curtain Call – Hits returned to the top five today for the first time since 2006, marking 551 weeks on the charts (5). His fourth studio LP, his 2002 The Eminem Show, also cracked the Top 40 for the first time in almost 20 years (40).

Elsewhere, Bob Dylan claims his 42nd Top 10 LP with Fragments – The Time Out Of Mind Sessions 17. His latest in his Bootlegs series (9). This record contains the latest mixes, outtakes and rare B-sides from his Time Out Of Mind recording sessions in 1997. His thirteenth studio album, his first reached number ten. The album also enters the top five (3) of the Official His Vinyl Album Chart.

Albanian-American star Ava Max hit number 11 on Diamonds & Dancefloors with her second Top 40 album. Her 2020 debut Heaven & Hell scored her number two.

And finally, American rapper and singer Lil Yachty set a career-best record with his fifth studio album, Let’s Start Here, becoming the first UK Top 40 album (32). Achieved.
