Sam Fender doesn’t like being compared to Bruce Springsteen – Music News

Sam Fender doesn’t like being compared to Bruce Springsteen.

The “Getting Started” rocker admits to being “not very keen on that tag” despite being a big fan of The Boss, 73.

Sam, 28, said in The Sun’s Bizarre column: I would rather be myself. It’s like, “Wait a minute, I didn’t just rip him off, I ripped off a lot of other people.”

He continues: I have a sax, come from a working-class town, and talk about working-class life, so I get bogged down easily.

“I can see where the crossover is coming.”

Sam revealed in May that he had teamed up with music legends Springsteen, Sting and Mark Knopfler for a charity project.

he said:

“We were in the studio the other day and I did a charity with him and Mark Knopfler.

I did the most nerve-wracking guitar song ever.

“I’m going to do a guitar take on a Mark Knopfler song — he’s one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Springsteen is on it too.”

The musician admitted that he had his sights set on cracking America earlier this year.

He said of his goals for this year:

“I’m flying here and I’m starting to fly to Europe.”
