Rihanna ‘inspired’ by Beyoncé’s Super Bowl Halftime Show performances

Rihanna prepared herself by studying Beyonce’s Super Bowl halftime show performance.

The Umbrella hitmaker will headline the spectacle Sunday as part of the National Football League’s Super Bowl LVII at State Farm Stadium in Arizona.

Also, in a recent interview on The Process with the Nate Burleson podcast, Rihanna revealed that she rewatched Formation stars’ past halftime show gigs for “inspiration.”

“I watched Beyoncé’s halftime performance a few times,” she said. “She’s a beast and she’s on a whole other level. She’s really just for inspiration.”

Beyoncé headlined the 2013 Super Bowl Halftime Show with a concert featuring Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. She was also approached to have Coldplay perform at her 2016 Super Bowl halftime show.

Additionally, Rihanna said she enjoyed watching Prince’s Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2007.

Elsewhere in the conversation, the 34-year-old claimed she was excited to be back on stage after taking some time off from the music industry to focus on her business ventures and start a family.

“It was really nice to see people excited about the music side of things. It was a reminder of what it means to be an artist,” she continued. “A lot of pressure, this is a big stage. I just want to put on a great show and enjoy it.”
