Reese Witherspoon & Kacey Musgraves Spearhead ‘My Kind Of Country’ Country Music Competition Series

Apple TV+ hosts the latest singing contest — My Kind of Country — On screens around the world on March 24th! This eight-part series takes viewers on a journey in search of the next big country star.

Reese Witherspoon When Kacey Musgraves Hitmakers Jimmy Allen, Mickey Guyton, and Orville Peck have joined the show as scouts and are set to lead the new series by scouting out a host of contestants to discover the latest country up-and-comers. Allen, Guyton, and Peck have curated a roster and taken their chosen rising stars to Nashville, Tennessee to show the world their extraordinary talent.

“The beauty of country music is that it can sound like so many different things and have so many different impacts. , very excited to be part of the new series #MyKindOfCountry on @AppleTVPlus,” Guyton captioned the social media post. “It was so much fun joining forces with @reesewitherspoon, @spaceykacey, @orvillepeck and @jimmieallen for a new kind of music competition and I can’t wait for you to see it on March 24th.”

Witherspoon shared her excitement about working with country star Musgraves on her Instagram story, commenting: Country music is my passion and I can’t wait to see the industry become more inclusive. ”

She went on to tease the new artists the show would feature, writing, “The talent on this show is insane.”

According to the show’s synopsis, “‘My Kind of Country’ is a new take on the competition series that breaks down barriers in country music by offering a unique opportunity for diverse and innovative artists from around the world. I will break it down,” he said. “Scouts Allen, Guyton, and Peck each handpick a roster of outstanding and up-and-coming artists and invite them to the country music home of Nashville, Tennessee to showcase their unique sound.”

Contest winners will be able to take home “life-changing awards” and “unprecedented support and exposure to the platform.”

Witherspoon and Musgraves will executive produce alongside Hello Sunshine’s Sara Rea and Lauren Neustadter, Sandbox Entertainment’s Jason Owen, Emmy-nominated Izzy Pick Ybarra, and Don and Dusted’s Katie Mullan. Emmy Award winner Adam Blackstone serves as music director, drawing on his experience with music industry luminaries such as Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, Faith Hill and Rihanna.
