The Spinet Music Club of Redlands will open on Tuesday, January 17 at 7:00 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, Redlands (419 S. Fourth St.
Performers are flutist Margaret Winter, cellist Becky Long and pianist Irmengard Jennings. According to a news release, their program includes Giovanni Pratti’s Sonata II, two of his works by Ottorino Respighi, three of his by Claude Debussy, Louis Moreau Gottschalk’s ‘Tournament Galop’, 2 Includes one Scott Joplin rug.
Margaret Winter holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Flute Performance and a Master’s Degree in Audiology from the University of Redlands. During her ten years she performed with the Riverside Philharmonic Orchestra, and for another decade she performed with the San Fernando She Valley Symphony Orchestra and other Los Angeles area ensembles. She currently plays mostly chamber music and sings with Ensemble XXI.
She has been practicing audiology for many years and not only teaches audiology courses, but is also the Clinic Director of the Audiology Ph.D. Program at Cal State Los Angeles.
Becky Long holds a BA in Music Education from the University of Oregon and an MA in Music Performance from the University of Redlands. She teaches primary orchestra full-time in the Redlands Unified School District and is also a Master of the Redlands University Strings Her Project Teacher.
Irmengard Jennings holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organ Performance and Music Education and a Master of Music degree in Organ Performance from the University of Redlands. Her studies included piano, vocal music, harpsichord, and choral conducting.
He spent 22 years at the University of Redlands, where he was Assistant Principal of the School of Music, Principal of the Community School of Music and the Arts, and Adjunct Professor of Organ and Harpsichord.
She has been Minister of Music for the Faith Lutheran Church of Yucaipa since 1997. She works full-time as Custodian of Music for Nick Rail in Redlands, Inland She sings with Master She Chorale and Ensemble XXI, and is Associate Conductor and Accompanist of the Redlands Community Choir.
Spinet’s February 21st program is also open to the public, featuring performances by pianists Sandy Pappas and Edward Yanell at First United Methodist Church in Redlands.
