Playboi Carti was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated assault late last year.
The 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Jordan Carter, was arrested in Georgia in December on suspicion of choking his pregnant girlfriend after a paternity test controversy, TMZ editors reported.
According to the arrest affidavit, the unnamed woman told police officers who responded that she and Carti discussed a paternity test, which led to an altercation that later escalated into a physical altercation.
She ran to her car and used the car’s SOS feature to call the police, so Carti tried to drag her out of the car. Police called the scene and said she had visible injuries to her neck, chest and back.
The woman said at the time that she had been dating Carti for two years and was 14 weeks pregnant.
Carti’s attorney, Brian Steele, claimed his client “received false accusations” in a statement to the outlet.
“According to correspondence with the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, this case will be dismissed without charge or litigation,” he said.
The Magnolia rapper was previously linked to Black Chyna and Iggy Azalea, with whom they share a two-year-old son named Onyx.
