Onslow County school bands, choirs and orchestras are all looking to get travelers in the holiday spirit at Albert J. Ellis Airport. Holiday music for terminal events is part of the art of the airport program.

Airport wanted to give student musicians a chance to share their talents with the community.
Swansboro Middle School orchestra teacher Kimberly Zimmerman said: “It’s also a great bonding experience for the kids.”
“I thought it would be a great extension to get past that and share it with everyone around me. Everyone comes and goes in our community, and we just want to get in the holiday spirit,” said Hunters Creek Middle School. said Rebekah Lockhart, chorus and general music teacher at .
Kids played holiday season favorites like “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” and even Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You.” It was done in hopes of uplifting the spirits of travelers returning home for the holiday season.
8th grade Edison Vega said,
“It was really good,” said traveler Shirley Parsons. “I think that’s really important for the kids.”
On Thursdays, the Hunters Creek 7th Grade Choir performs from 11am to 11:30am. On Fridays, the South West High School Band and Chorus perform from 11am to noon.
