“And all were taxed and each moved to his own city.

“Joseph also left the city of Nazareth in Galilee and went up to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem in Judea.

“Taxed with his spouse Mary and blessed with children.

So, while they were there, the day came when she would give birth.

She gave birth to her firstborn son, wrapped him in cloth, and laid him in a manger. Because there was no room for them in the inn.

The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. Behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which will come to all people.

“Today in the city of David you have born a Savior, the Lord Christ.

“And this will be a sign to you. You will find the baby lying in the manger.
