According to a 2017 study conducted by Psychology Today, music is a powerful tool that can bring people together, promote trust, empathy, and even relieve stress. Singing and dancing together creates a sense of togetherness that everyone is enjoying the sound together.
Last Saturday night, Hopkins County experienced just how powerful music can be.
Rusty Tabor and Boscoe France took the stage together at The Crowded House at 26 W. Center St. in downtown Madisonville. France and Tabor have performed in crowded houses before, but have never performed together on stage.
“Live music in our community is a way to give back. Live music is free and our guests enjoy top-notch service, food and drink. Our community enjoys downtown on weekend nights. We can do that,” said Crowded House manager Ashley Sutton.
Music has the power to influence our state of mind and change our moods. Music motivates us and gives us energy when we need it. When we are worried, it can calm us down. When we are depressed, it can inspire us. Stimulates memory and lifts mood. Music is all around us, it intersects with our lives, it regulates our moods and brings good vibes to everyone who listens to it. I will give it to you.
“The Crowded House has been offering live music every weekend since opening in 2011,” said owner Chris Devoto. “It has always been important to us to offer nightlife close to home. Doing this brings together a community that is important for a small town. All our guests really enjoyed themselves.”
