Little Mermen bring Disney magic and music to Boston – Lowell Sun

Longtime Disney fan Alexis Babini has formed a Little Mermen tribute band, capitalizing on the music he and millions of others grew up with.

They’ll be at City Winery Boston at 80 Beverly Street on Saturday, January 21 at noon for Disney Brunch with The Little Mermen. We promise to please the young and young at heart.

Babini, a Connecticut native and Berklee College of Music graduate, said:

He always incorporated music into his act when opening for stars like Boz Scaggs and the late Aaron Carter.

He founded his own band about nine years ago, from esteemed Disney composer Alan Menken (who proclaimed “Go Mermen!” in “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin,” and “The Little Mermaid”). Received praise.

They recently got “lucky” with a new booking agent who will be “touring around” this winter.

The show is described by BuzzFeed as “Freakin’ Adorable!” Founder Babini and his band members on ‘Lady & the Tramp’, ‘The Jungle Book’, ‘The Little Mermaid’, ‘Mary Poppins’, ‘Frozen’ and ‘Encanto’.

Besides Babini, the cast of talented musicians and Disney princesses ready to rock the hearts include vocalists Carly Kincannon (NBC’s “The Thing Off”) and Chelsea Zeno (Broadway’s “Priscilla Queen of the Desert”). ”), including Cody Lahn (a YouTube show) on drums. “Sounds Like a Drum”), Ryan Slatko on Keys, and Andrew Grau on Bass.

The show is great for ages 3 and up, said Babini. But he also saw the audience hug the baby as Little Mermen begins “Circle of Life” from “The Lion King.”

He says it’s great because you’re never too young to be a Disney fan.

Tickets, excluding brunch, are $30 and are available at www.citywinery.com/boston.
