JCS Theatre to perform “The Sound Of Music”

JACKSON, Tennessee – A local school prepares to bring the sound of music to life on stage.

The Jackson Christian School drama department had a dress rehearsal on Wednesday to prepare for “The Sound of Music” on stage.

“We started working on this piece last September,” said theater director Brayden Miller. “And it’s been thought and planned for longer than that.”

This musical is based on the heartwarming true story of the Von Trapp Family Singers, one of the most famous concert groups in the world just before World War II.

Theater Director Brayden Miller says The Sound of Music is not only a fun show, but a show that allows people to really connect.

“We see both of our main characters actually having to overcome great fears and great adversity to do what they know is right. It’s something you can find yourself in. Talk to a lot of people,” Miller said.

Performances are Thursday at 7:00 PM, Friday at 7:00 PM, and Saturday at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

They are all located in the Lloyd Auditorium on the campus of Fried Hardeman College. Tickets can be purchased here.

Miller says guests can expect fun, music and all the other joys that come from a Broadway musical.
