Harry Styles wins big at 2023 BRIT Awards


Harry Styles dominated the 2023 Brit Awards on Saturday night.

The Sign of the Times hitmaker swept the event’s big awards, including Artist of the Year, Best Pop/R&B Act, Song of the Year for As It Was and Album of the Year for Harry’s House.

In his Artist of the Year acceptance speech, Harry thanked his family and former One Direction bandmates Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik.

Additionally, Starr credited his mother for giving him his big break by signing him up for The X Factor in 2010 without him knowing.

Elsewhere, Harry addressed controversy over the lack of women nominated in the Artist of the Year category, and credited his win to the likes of Lina Sawayama, Florence Welch, Mabel, Charlie XCX, and Becky Hill. Dedicated to the artist of

“I fully recognize my privilege to be here tonight, so this award goes to Lina, Charlie, Florence, Mabel and Becky,” he concluded.

The 29-year-old opened his show with a rendition of As It Was. Featuring Stormzy, Sam Smith, Kim Petras, Lizzo, Wet Legs and Lewis Capaldi, David Guetta closed the bash.

Britain’s other big winners were Wet Leg, who won Best New Artist and Group of the Year awards.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé won International Artist of the Year and also won International Song of the Year for Break My Soul. Irish rock band Fontaine’s DC has been named International Group of the Year.

In the Other Genres category, Aitch won the Grime/Hip-Hop Award and Becky Hill won Dance Gong for the second year in a row. The 1975 won the Best Rock/Alternative Act section.

Guetta won the previously announced Producer of the Year award, and Harry’s regular collaborator Kid Harpoon was named Songwriter of the Year.

The awards ceremony was hosted by Mo Gilligan at the O2 Arena in London.
