Harry Styles completed a clean sweep at the 2023 Brit Awards at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday (11th February). Styles won all four of the awards he was nominated for (Artist of the Year, Mastercard Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Fan-Vote Pop/R&B Act). This is even better than last year’s Adele show. She won her three of those awards, but the pop/R&B act she lost to Dua Lipa.

Beyonce defeated three other American acts (Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo and Taylor Swift) and Nigerian superstar Burna Boy to win International Artist of the Year. Beyoncé previously won International Female Artist of the Year for her twice, at a time when the British had gender categories. Beyoncé also won International Song of the Year for “Break My Soul,” beating out the likes of Lizzo’s “About Dumb Time” and Swift’s “Anti-Hero.”

David Guetta wins Producer of the Year. This is the first time that a person from continental Europe (Guetta is French) has won the award. Accepting the award, Guetta said: Living long is a miracle like what we do. Guetta has yet to be nominated for a Grammy Award for Producer of the Year (non-classical).
Becky Hill won the Fan Poll Award for Dance Act for the second year in a row. .
The 1975 won the fan-voted award for alternative/rock act, beating Wet Leg and more.
Aitch won the fan vote for hip hop, grime and rap act. He beat out last year’s category winner, Dave.
The award was hosted by British comedian Moe Gilligan for the second year in a row. Styles, Wet Leg, Smith & Petras were on the show, along with Cat Burns, Lewis Capaldi, Lizzo, Stormzy, and her team of David Guetta & Becky Hill & Ella Henderson. The show also included an encore broadcast of Adele’s performance of her clip “I Drink Wine” from last year’s show. Adele didn’t appear on this year’s Grammy telecast, so it was nice to see her in action again.
This show was not glitch free. Gilligan introduced Lewis Capaldi as “Sam Capaldi”. The Scottish singer didn’t miss a performance of his hit “Forget Me.” Gilligan later apologized for the gaffe on air, adding:
