Clinton — Bluegrass superstars Gibson Brothers are bringing their new release, ‘Darkest Hour’, to central New York on Friday, February 3rd at 7:30pm.
By taking universally known truths and sentiments, distilling them into impeccable bluegrass, country and Americana tunes, and playing them so sweetly, brothers Eric and Lee Gibson will impress all audiences, Connect with longtime listeners, casual passers-by.
“Darkest Hour” spans from trad grass to country soul and vice versa, using classic bluegrass instruments as well as electric guitars and drums to create the perfect sound for the song. The duo began work on this album just before the world shut down in March 2020.
Songwriting is at their core, with ‘Darkest Hour’ offering 12 tracks produced by Jerry Douglas. The majority of the album was recorded in a standard bluegrass configuration, but several tracks contain rapping his steel, percussion and electric guitar, all blended brilliantly by Douglas.
