FUGA, a B2B distributor owned by Downtown Music Holdings, has hired another independent music label as a client for its global distribution, marketing and sync services.
Marathon Music Group, the parent company of Marathon Artists and independent record labels such as Moves Recordings, Mahogany Recordings and DMY Recordings, will utilize FUGA’s global digital and physical distribution services.
Marathon is home to artists such as Courtey Barnett, Lava La Rue, Afro B and Baaba Maal.
Marathon Music was founded in 2012 by CEOs Paul-Rene Albertini, Philippe Ascoli and Jimmy Mikaoui.
The UK-based record label’s roster ranges from singer-songwriters Courtney Barnett and Lava La Rue to Afrobeat stars such as Naira Marley and Afro-B. The act also includes UK Jazz pillars such as Ill Considered and Theon Cross.
In 2020 Marathon launched New Soil, a new division dedicated to UK Jazz.
The partnership with FUGA will give Marathon Music access to services such as marketing, trends and analytics, sync and brand partnerships, FUGA said.
FUGA provides B2B services for music companies. Our global marketing team in 17 countries provides analytics, royalty accounting, adjoining rights, rights management and white label services.

The most recent partnership was with independent US label Polyvinyl Records, which includes artists such as Montreal’s Alvvays, American Football, Laura Jane Grace, Julia Jacklin and STRFKR.
Other FUGA clients include electronic label Insomniac Music Group, classical music company Naxos, Germany’s Odyssey Music Network and Austria’s Phat Penguin.
