Frolic in Forestville or catch Patsy Cline’s night music in Zumbrota this weekend – Post Bulletin


FORESTVILLE, Minnesota — You can’t spell frost and icicles without frolic. It’s a bit out of reach, but it’s important to find ways to have fun in Minnesota in the dead of winter.

Forestville Mystery Cave State Park is hosting a Winter Fun Fest on Saturday, February 4th. Bring your sleigh, picnic food, and snowman-building gear to the historic village grounds for games, good times, and hot cocoa.

State Parks and Minnesota Historical Society staff and volunteers provide horse sledding, free use of snowshoes, and free games and crafts. A warm fire and hot cocoa and cider will help keep you warm between activities.

Horse-drawn carriages are $5 and you are asked to sign up for a time slot. Tickets are available online at the Minnesota Historical Society website at mnhs.org.

According to the University of Houston, there have been 31,000 languages ​​throughout human history. Through Proto Language, artist Chris Delisle explores what many languages ​​have in common—symbols that seem to have universal meaning to people. Delisle discusses his work, its themes, how art explores history, psychology and mythology, and how meaning is passed on across generations and cultures.

The show runs through Sunday, February 19th.

Enjoy the timeless music of Patsy Cline, created by musician and performer Joan Parker. She will perform Klein’s song on Saturday at the Zumbrota State Theater in Zumbrota. Parker’s performance as Cline earned her two nominations for the Midwest Tribute Her Act of the Year by the Country Music Association.
