FORESTVILLE, Minnesota — You can’t spell frost and icicles without frolic. It’s a bit out of reach, but it’s important to find ways to have fun in Minnesota in the dead of winter.
Forestville Mystery Cave State Park is hosting a Winter Fun Fest on Saturday, February 4th. Bring your sleigh, picnic food, and snowman-building gear to the historic village grounds for games, good times, and hot cocoa.
State Parks and Minnesota Historical Society staff and volunteers provide horse sledding, free use of snowshoes, and free games and crafts. A warm fire and hot cocoa and cider will help keep you warm between activities.
Horse-drawn carriages are $5 and you are asked to sign up for a time slot. Tickets are available online at the Minnesota Historical Society website at mnhs.org.
