Tens of thousands of people braved the first day of the new year at the Field Day Music Festival and emergency workers busied themselves in the sweltering heat.

Three people were taken to hospital for further treatment.

Police have been busy, too, with 100 people charged with drug offenses in both overt and covert activity.

As part of the operation, 97 people were found in possession of illegal drugs including MDMA, amphetamines, cannabis, cocaine, ecstasy, LSD, ketamine, and psilocybin (mushrooms).

Three people were arrested and charged with drug supply.

Police allege in court that a 21-year-old man had 15 MDMA capsules, a 21-year-old man had 9 MDMA capsules, and a 25-year-old woman had 5 MDMA capsules. capsule.

All three were indicted on refusal of supply charges and later granted conditional bail to appear in Downing Center District Court.
