Ellie Goulding wants fans to be able to put their phones away at the show and “live in the moment.”
The 36-year-old singer performed at London venue Koko this week. She told supporters to put her gadgets back in their pockets after watching old footage of her. Rather than tinkering with their technology,
She told fans: When you look back at footage of old festivals and gigs, everyone is living in the moment and feeling free.”
After spotting one fan on a video call, she asked them to “say goodbye” to the person on the other end of the phone.
According to The Sun’s Bizarre column, she said:
Ellie released a new 80’s style single ‘Like A Saviour’ this month.
She’s already dropped three songs from her album in 2022: “Easy Lover,” “All by Myself,” and “Let it Die.”
Ellie recently announced that she would be postponing the release of her fifth studio album.
She told her followers on Instagram: Some exciting opportunities have presented itself behind the scenes. We are happy to announce that the title of our new single is ‘Like a Saviour’. Coming soon. We shot a video and it’s one of my favorite videos I’ve ever shot. And as a small thank you for hanging out with me, I wanted you to see it first. I did. About that soon… (sic)”
