Duran Duran is taking Scissor Sisters star Jake Shears on tour

Duran Duran has announced Jake Sears as a special guest for his upcoming tour.

The ‘Rio’ hitmaker is set to play a series of shows in the UK and Ireland this spring, and will be joined by the Scissor Sisters frontman.

In a statement he said:

“It is a great honor to play with them again.

“It’s safe to say I’m excited. See you there!

Along with the Scissor Sisters, the “Take Your Mama” singer joined Duran Duran’s “Reunion Tour” in 2004, and bandmate Ana Matronic later released the 2010 album All You I collaborated with them on “Need Is Now”.

Duran Duran’s Roger Taylor said:

“The Scissor Sisters played a very important role on the 2004 Reunion Tour.

“Also welcome to the wonderful Lia Lia from Berlin. The first time I heard ‘I’m A Moth!’ We were all completely hooked.

“We couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming shows with the support of these two incredible artists.”

Ria Ria, who completes the line-up, adds:

“I am thrilled, thrilled and absolutely terrified!! A living legend. (sic)”

When the group announced their tour last November, his frontman Simon Le Bon revealed how “grateful” the band was for their continued success.

he said:

“We are so grateful for the day-to-day work we do and still love the job as much as we did when we started almost 40 years ago.”
