Dolly Parton has a great new song. The problem is he has to wait 23 years to hear it.
On Tuesday, ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ released a new clip of the ‘Jolene’ singer’s recent appearance on the daytime talk show. He revealed that he wrote the song.
“It drove me crazy,” Parton said. “I wrote a song that no one will hear until I’m 99. It may or may not be there.”
The track was written for the 2015 opening of Parton’s Dollywood Dreammore Resort, a hotel adjacent to Parton’s longtime Dollywood Theme Park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. According to national legend, she put the song in a box with her CD player and cassette player, but the box won’t be opened again until her 2045, when the resort marks her 30th anniversary.

Parton, now 76, will turn 99 when the time comes. She fears the music will “rot” before the capsule is opened.
“I don’t know whose idea it was,” Parton said. “They didn’t expect me to be there at all, and maybe I won’t be there. I might be there. Who knows. Maybe it will collapse, and who I don’t think you’ll hear it either.”
Adding to her frustration, she really likes mystery tunes.
“I want to dig it badly,” Parton said. “It’s a really good song, so we need to use it!”
It will be a long time before this particular track sees the light of day, but Parton plans to wow fans with a new rock album inspired by her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction last month.
Parton spoke about the new project during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” earlier this month, telling the late-night host that the album will be called “Rockstar” and will be released next fall. said.
“My husband is a rock and roll freak,” Parton explained. “So I thought, ‘Well, now is the time to do it.'”
The album includes original songs as well as covers of classic rock anthems by Prince, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynyrd. A surprise guest artist also appeared.
“We’re going to do a lot of great, iconic songs,” Parton teased. “Purple Rain”, “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”, “Stairway to Heaven”, “Free Bird”. I also did “Free Bird!” “
Later this month, Parton and daughter Miley Cyrus will co-host “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party,” a special live song-filled show on NBC on December 31st. NBC sketches her member of the cast of her series ‘Saturday Night Live’.
