Dave Grohl Spent 16 Hours Cooking BBQ for a Good Cause


Good grohl attacks again. Dave Grohl, frontman of Foo Fighters and executive director of Backbeat Barbecue, took to the streets last week to feed the homeless at the Hope of the Valley rescue mission in Los Angeles. , had a serious time smoking barbecue.

According to TMZ, Grohl showed up at the Hope Mission around midnight on Wednesday with a load of meat smokers, then spent the next 16 hours serving ribs, pork belly, brisket, cabbage, coleslaw and beans. It took about 14 hours to cook the meat, and another two hours to let it rest. Got some sleep. A photo gallery can be seen on TMZ.

The gesture came as a massive storm was about to hit the SoCal coast. After the meal, Grohl spoke with the mission staff as well as the guests currently living in the shelter. In total, his feast was attended by about 450 guests and his 50 staff.

Hope of the Valley CEO Rowan Vansleeve shared a video he shot with Grohl as part of the homeless-focused “350 Mile Run” mission between Las Vegas and Los Angeles. In it, Grohl said he was “all in” on the mission, and Vanslieve commented on the post: This is Dave Grohl cooking over 500 servings of the best barbecue for people living in our shelter.

This isn’t the first time Grohl has turned to Cooker to help the community. In 2018, the Foo Fighters frontman served a meal to firefighters at Fire Station 68 in Calabasas in the midst of the then-ongoing battle with the massive California wildfires. In the midst of the pandemic, Grohl teamed up with local San Fernando Valley eatery Casa Vega to create the Foo Fighters Special Combo Plate. and her family.
