Damon Albarn has posted a piano tribute in memory of the late De La Soul rapper David Joricourt.
The Blur and Gorillaz star gave a touching tribute to his “Feel Good Inc.” A co-author following the sad news of his passing on February 12th.

A founding member of the hip-hop group, whose stage name was Tolgoi the Dove, he suffered from congestive heart failure in recent years, but the cause of death is unknown at this time.
The news was confirmed by costume publicist Tony Ferguson.
David formed the iconic rap trio in 1987 with Posdnuos (Kelvin Mercer) and Maseo (Vincent Lamont Mason Jr).
He co-wrote Gorillaz’ 2005 hit ‘Feel Good Inc.’ with De La Soul.
David’s associates of Cypress Hill’s B Real have paid tribute to the deceased star, including hailing him as a “legend in hip-hop music and culture.”

“But not only was he a great musician, he was a great human being. He meant a lot to us.”
David’s passing came just a week after the highly influential De La Soul was honored during a segment celebrating the genre at the Grammy Awards on February 5th.
Additionally, on March 3rd, the group’s first six albums will be available for streaming for the first time.
De La Soul faced many lengthy licensing issues due to the huge number of samples they used in their music. This prevented their songs from reaching new ears online.
Their hits include 1989’s “The Magic Number” and “Me, Myself and I”.
