Chris Brown has won big at the 2023 Urban Music Awards (UMA).
The US rapper was named Artist of the Year (USA) and star-studded 2022 at the 19th edition of the live-broadcast ceremony held at Porsche Star Hall in London on Tuesday night (28.02.23) I brought home the best of LP ‘Breezy’. on VooVix TV.
He beat out Beyoncé, Lizzo, Drake, DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Coi Riley, Glorilla, Rat, 21 Savage, Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, and Jack Harlow.
Dancehall legend Sean Paul wins Artist of the Year (Caribbean) award.
In his acceptance speech, he said: [would] Thank you Urban Music Awards for supporting me over the years. I am very grateful for this award. ”
Bugzy Malone won the Most Inspiring Artist Award and Billy Ocean won the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Elsewhere, British band The Heartless Crew received an Outstanding Contribution to Music award on their 30th anniversary.
Documentary maker Luis Theroux, DJ and presenter Ngoc Wang, and 2000s R+B star Lemar were among those who worked as hosts at the bash.
This year, VooVix TV relaunched its flagship reality show, ‘Britain’s Next Urban Superstar’.
