J-Hope will be the next BTS member to serve in the military in South Korea.

K-pop group label BigHit Music announced Sunday that 29-year-old J-Hope, whose real name is Jung Ho-seok, has begun the enlistment process.

In a statement on Weverse, BigHit said, “We would like to inform fans that J-HOPE has applied for an end to his enlistment postponement and has begun the military enlistment process.” We ask for your continued love and support until J-Hope finishes his military service and safely returns to Korea. We will do our best to support our artists.”

J-Hope is following in the footsteps of 30-year-old bandmate Jin, who began his military service in December. The rest of the members, RM, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, will be performing services “according to their respective plans.”

BTS, which is currently working on a solo project, plans to reunite around 2025 after completing all activities.
