Big George Jones “Still Playin’ Possum” Concert Announced


April 26, 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of George Jones’ death, and on Tuesday, April 25, artists and fans will gather at Propst Arena in Huntsville, Alabama to pay tribute to George Jones in a one-night-only event. To do. Billed as “Still Playin’ Possum: Music and Memories of George Jones.”

Brad Paisley, Diacs Bentley, Jamie Johnson, Justin Moore, Rory Morgan, Mark Chesnutt, Michael Ray, Sam Moore, Tanya Tucker, Trace Adkins, Tracy Bird, Tracy Bird Other names will be announced at Lawrence. The event will also be recorded by a professional production crew for future broadcasts.

“George Jones passed away on April 26, 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee. Producing the music of the night is a perfect fit.” George’s widow Nancy Jones says. “George made history and inspired artists of all genres, and many more will be celebrating with us in April. It brings a lot of excitement to everyone who was there.”

This will be George Jones’ first major event since the George Jones museum, venue and restaurant in Nashville closed in December 2021 and his naming and likeness rights were sold in 2016. Although efforts to keep George’s memory alive have been hampered, they continue to do their best. It is also done when “Tammy” is broadcast.
