Last Friday (February 10), Machine Gun Kelly headlined Coors Light Bird Nest in Scottsdale, Arizona as part of the multi-day Super Bowl 2023 concert series. Kelly later revealed through his media outlet Social that he was briefly electrocuted during his performance.
Yesterday (February 11th), Kelly twitter, YouTube and Facebook about the incident. Specifically, he shared a short video captured by a fan that shows him singing and moving around the stage as a column of smoke rises around him. can be seen, but he quickly puts his hair back and continues acting as if nothing had happened.
His corresponding caption is slightly different but conveys the same reaction.[G]It’s the first time I’ve ever been electrocuted during a performance… but my hair is cool.”
Thankfully, TMZ later confirmed, MGK was indeed fine. We are learning towards mischief as he seems unperturbed. Also, EMT did not appear. MGK ran two hours earlier than her…after the show, MGK met with his fiancé Megan Fox to throw a party for Drake.
However, MGK itself and many other media outlets seem to imply that it was a real accident.
As for how his followers have reacted, well, they generally display a mixture of concern and cynicism. “I don’t know if it’s his MGK from Final Fantasy or Cloud he’s Stryfe,” a Facebook fan wrote, adding, “The fact that he continues to perform after being electrocuted is beyond me. It’s a true performer.” Similarly, someone on YouTube replied:
