As Alaska approaches 2023, hundreds of people gathered to ring the New Year bells and watch the fireworks light up downtown Anchorage.
The New Year’s Eve celebration was hosted by the Anchorage Downtown Partnership and supported by EasyPark, the Anchorage Community Development Authority and the Atwood Foundation.
The parking lot at the corner of Third Avenue and E Street was filled with live music, dance performances, food trucks and booths. A small dock nearby set off fireworks, some soaring as high as 620 feet. A bright red light cast on the road and people below watching with family and friends.
